My Review;

I received some cards from Bug Lover Cards and instantly melted. The adorable creatures, the cute sayings, and the perfection in how the cards are put together. I loved them! My fiance automatically stole the Skunk card, which said I Stink Your Cute. How adorable! The cut outs are perfect, no tears. The cards themselves came in a plastic sleeve to protect any damage. I have sent a couple to a few friends that have given many on top of many more compliments on the cards. I love the fact that the cards are layered, not just one image. Full of color and personality, these cards are sure to make anyones day. Everyone and anyone from boyfriends, sisters, sons & daughters. There are even cards for certain occasions such as birthdays, baby showers, or just to a simple thank you! I also received a box of monogram cards for my last name. I have used those weekly, just to say hi or to send a reminder to people. These cards really are fantastic, and this shop should have a many more eyes on it.

My Review;

I received a few cards from Sweet And Kind Of a bit ago and loved them! The cards themselves are just adorable. The front, the illustrations, the saying on them...all of it is just precious. I automatically sent out the I Heart NY card to one of my best friends in New York. I got a call from her just to tell me she received my card and loved it. Most of the cards in this shop seem to be hand drawn illustrations. The cards were printed on card stock that is slightly textured, which makes the whole card seem professional with a touch of homemade. I think cards should be able to say what you need to say without you actually SAYING it, and thats what these do. Even the illustrations speak plenty, the sayings are cute, simple and to the point. I love these cards, I can't wait to send out the rest!

My Review;

AMAZING! I received a pair of Strawberry Ice Cream Earrings in the mail a couple weeks ago and instantly put them on to wear for the night. The detail of the pieces in AlyrooArt's shop are impeccable. The ice cream cone even has the diamond ridges like a real cone. The ice cream scoop has the image of slightly melting, and the color of the scoop is a bright pink with darker pink set in it. The top of the scoop has a small swirl of "whipped cream" along with two little slices of strawberries that really top the whole thing off. My favorite thing about these earrings are the ear hooks though, they aren't original ear hooks that can sometimes slip out of your ear, or that you have to put a backing on. They clasp together for a solid hold. The pieces in AlyrooArt's shop all have a simplicity to them that can be worn with anything. Wear your Waffle Plate Necklace with jean and a shirt or match your cupcake earrings with your favorite summer dress. All in all, a great shop with great items for everyone!

Westminster Studio Bracelet Giveaway!

Simple, Stunning, & Creative Jewelry from Westminster Studio!

My Review;

A week or so ago I received a bracelet from Westminster Studio, shown below.

Before even putting it on it was remarkable. The colors were striking, all the pearl drop pieces just have a glow to them that makes the silver loops they are held by stand out that much more. The pearl drops came in pink, brown, and a 'somewhat' off white. The blend of the colors work perfectly. Even the end of the clasp clears with a small white/pink pearl, to bring the whole bracelet together. I love this bracelet because it looks clean, it doesn't come off gaudy or take over an outfit. It can be paired easily with anything from jeans and a tank-top to a simple sundress. The bracelet fits nicely, it comes with numerous loops to hook so you can change the size around your wrist. I like Westminster Studio's because every piece has that same clean simple look as the bracelet I received.

Here is some information about Jennifer, the creator of Westminster Stuido;

"I'm an art teacher in Arizona and I had worked at an Alternative High School for over a decade and loved the kids there. We were a place for teen parents, kids who live on their own, kids with chronic disease whos medical conditions made it difficult for them to attend regular school, etc. Our state (already 50th in the nation for school funding) made more drastic cuts to education that resulted in many of my coworkers getting laid off, my having to take a pay cut, and our entire school getting closed down with no place for the kids to go. It was so incredibly sad.

Every day I'd go in to work and do what I could to council the kids about the transition they were about to make and try to talk them out of dropping out of school altogether. The days were stressful and emotionally taxing. At the end of the day I needed to do something positive to both unwind and lift my spirits. After spending a day passing out kleenex to students in tears because their school was closing and they had nowhere to go I wanted some positive space that wasn't sad or depressing. So I started making jewelry, first just for myself. I'd make a new piece each night and wear it to work in the morning. I tried to make jewelry that felt uplifting, to keep my spirits up a bit during a difficult time. My coworkers and students started to compliment and ask about the pieces I was wearing and I started giving some away as gifts and then eventually people I worked with began asking if I would be willing to sell some and then through word of mouth I started creating pieces by request for their friends and family members.

I found that I really enjoyed making jewelry and loved when people would come back and tell me about compliments they had gotten while wearing something I made. It made me feel great and I loved the creative outlet. As an art teacher, I helped others create art all day, but didn't get a chance to make any myself. But now, in the evenings, I make jewelry and even though I've moved on and work at a different school it still lifts my spirits to spend time creating something beautiful."

Excolo Design Earring Giveaway!

Unique Handcrafted Mineral Gem Jewelry from Excolo Design!

My Review;

I received a pair of earrings from Excolo Design in the mail a couple weeks ago. They came in an adorable little box wrapped in a bow, like a little present! I had no idea which pair I was receiving, so it was a complete surprise. When I opened the box I found this pair of marvelous Lilly Jade earrings. The pair have gold dangle Lilly pad/leaves with jade hanging in the middle. The ear hooks seem to be a dark oxidized brass, which pairs nicely with the gold/brass color of the Lillys. The ear hooks also have one simple small green swarovki crystal which gives the earrings a sparkle to set off the toned-down contrast of the rest of the set. Wearing the earrings weren't much of a task, they hang down no more than two inches and don't snag or catch on hair or clothing. They are lightweight and even though there are three charms to each earring they don't make much noise when clanking together. So far I have not had any trouble with them, besides family trying to steal them and I think the only negative thing I have to say about these earrings is that they probably shouldn't be worn around babies. My daughter can't seem to keep her hands off them!

My Review;

The jewelry is beautiful, and obviously has a lot of meaning. The pieces are filled with a vintage feeling, yet bring a bright and beautiful addition to your day to day. I purchased my own Love Bird Locket Necklace pictured above from her shop and simply fell in love with it. The brass is the perfect color that makes the necklace look like it's vintage, but yet in perfect condition. The little flower is just so bright and makes the whole thing pop with color. When I received the necklace it also came with little heart locket earrings, I at first had no idea they were coming with the package then I found out every purchase comes with matching earrings! It's like a little extra surprise. I loved it. I will continue to purchase jewelry from Connor Inspires Amy.

Here is some information about Teri, the creator of Stem Design;

"Hi, my name is Teri.
My love for jewelry, especially handmade, started with my first job out of high school.I was fortunate enough to work with qualified artisans and Gemologists. Here i learned about different types of jewelry making materials and gemstones. The knowledge i gained has helped me significantly,especially in identifying quality materials/gemstones to use in my work.

I like working with Sterling Silver, PMC and Gemstones. I find Sterling Silver to be very malleable which helps with the creative process. To give a little "jazz" to some pieces I use a wide variety of semi-precious gemstones. I also like the various colors given to Silver by using liver of sulfur (patina). Recently I have been using this technique on some of my pieces, especially those made from PMC.

I purchased my first set of tools 2yrs ago because i was simply bored with the mass production and sameness of a lot of jewelry. I wanted to wear jewelry that was unique and fits my personality. From this idea Stem Designs was born and the response from everyone has been great. I have been creating beautiful jewelry since while exploring and keeping abreast of different jewelry making techniques.

Possibly the cutest and funniest items I have seen on Etsy! Cuore creates bags, pillows, plushies and cards so full of attitude and personality. The owl pillows shown above is Stewart. This is his story;

Stewart the Owl likes to sit in his tree and ponder life with his squirrel neighbors. He lives in San Francisco, near a beautiful wood paneled tree house. He is a big fan of Conan O’Brien, and is pondering a move to Los Angeles in the summer, when Conan will be taking over the Tonight Show. In his spare time, Stewart teaches the neighborhood owl and squirrel kids how to break dance to hip hop.

Here is some information about the creator of Cuore herself;

"Konichiwa! My name is Mika Y., and I am a freelance designer for accessories, clothing, and everything else that's fun!

After receiving my degree in design from the Fashion Institute in Los Angeles, I honed my creative skills at Paul Frank Industries for 6 1/2 years as the Women's Accessories designer where I learned how to make everything from bags and wallets to guitar straps.

I started "Cuore" (heart in Italian) in 2006, and was honored to be named a finalist in Fred Flare's "Next Big Thing 2007" !

My Review;

I love these cards! All of them! I received a Eli card in the mail a little bit before Fathers Day and instantly wrote up a simple note for my father and sent it on it's way. It came with the envelope and everything. The cards are simple and blank inside which leaves more room for imagination. You can use most any of these cards for any occasion. The art is adorable and great for any age! The card itself measures about 5.5 x 4.25". I first noticed this shop because of the cute little animals drawn on the cards, and after reading a bit more I noticed the artist also does personalized cards, invitations and such. You can ask for a custom animal or get a drawn cartoon of yourself or a loved one. I love it! I would recommend these for all your holiday, occasion, and party needs!

Joanna, the creator of Skribbly Kids is a Motion Graphics/ Visual Effects artist. She works mostly on movies and tv shows. In her spare time Etsy keeps her very busy with custom logo designs, portraits, and cartoons. Her inspiration seems to feed off of keeping creative at all times!

My Review;

I got my adorable little elephant plush in the mail about a week ago. Her name is Editha, and she came with a little personality of her own, just like every other cute plushie in RabbitsMoon shop! "Editha is a one of a kind little elephant made from a mix of vintage and new fabrics. Editha can sit on her own, but sometimes gets a bit tired of sitting and lays down. A little pat on her back will wake her up again. Her favorite thing is to hang out and listen to the neighborhood boys coming by on their skateboards."How could you NOT fall in love with these things? Editha is about 6 inches high and her legs go out about 6.5 inches out. The plushies from RabbitsMoon aren't quite the cuddly type, exactly. They make great friends for the little one though! And well, I love her too. :) These plushies are the type of thing I consider art and would love to just put out on the book shelf and on the side tables just to look at. The fabrics and the stiching are perfection. Every part of the elephant is sewn on tightly and after having my 6 month old toss her around a bit, i haven't even seen one difference! I love them and am dying for the day I actually make a decision on which owl plushie I want!

I got my bracelets from Emma Lewis Jewelry in the mail yesterday and I adore them! I chose the pink stones on gold and the colors just go together so wonderfully! The stones are slightly clear, a couple of them even have just a white tone to them and the way they catch the light just makes the whole thing stand out! I fell in love with a lot of Emma Lewis Jewelry after seeing all the different materials that go into her items. There is something in her shop for everyone to enjoy. You can tell from pictures, and after receiving her products that she puts a lot of time and effort into making this jewelry. The wiring is perfect, yet still has that real homemade feel to it. The bracelets aren't loud, or heavy. They fit just right and have added that extra special touch to any outfit! I can't wait to wear them to our friends wedding coming up! Gorgeous!

Adorable fabric coasters from Love My Coasters!

My Review;

I received the coasters seen above in the mail a couple weeks ago, and put them on my kitchen table automatically! The colors are so bright and inviting they made the whole table complete. I was a bit skeptical about using fabric coasters when I first received them because I wasn't sure how well the coasters would hold moisture or heat, but they were great! They didn't get heavy and didn't act like a sponge, they did their job well! The middle of the fabric has a heavy duty stabilizer in it to do just that! I was then a bit skeptical that they would hold their shape after getting wet, but after seeing my daughter sit and naw on one of the coasters and getting it SOAKED, it stayed its perfect square shape that day, the next, and still to this day! I adore Love My Coasters shop because there are a million different designs and colors to choose from! There is no way you CAN'T find something to match any room in your home! I will be getting red ones next!

I have never in my life seen such beautiful colors in the simplest of jewelry. I received a pair of earrings from Idioma a few weeks back ( pictured above! ). They were made from amethyst, peridot and tourmaline. The most gorgeous full colors of purple, green and pink. The stones them selves and smoothed and GLOWING. The wiring and ear hooks are sterling silver that the creator of Idioma oxidized herself. The silver has a rustic look to it that makes the colors of the stones stand out that much more. I can honestly say these are my all time favorite earrings I have ever owned. They are light weight and don't snag on hair or clothing. The twisting of the wire around the stones isn't a perfect circle which gives off a handmade feel, which is probably what got my attention in the first place. I have gotten numerous compliments from people, even the grocery clerk! Everyone seems to love them and wants to know where I purchased them at. I would recommend ANYTHING from Idioma to anyone that loves jewelry. Her shop holds a big variety of products made from quarts, topaz, amethyst, coral, opal...the list goes on. I highly recommend Idioma to all my readers..friends..family...so on and so forth!

I received my ring from http://www.etsy.com/shop/jessicatstudio in the mail a couple days and honestly haven't taken it off once. I thought when I saw the rings in the shop that they would be considerably larger than they were, but when I got received it, it was the perfect size! When the lighting hits the glass beads it makes the prettiest rainbow colors I've ever seen. I got the Swarovski Crystal Stella Ring and just like the description says it goes with any outfit! Day wear to nightwear instantly. And yes, I have even worn it with sweats. When you are a stay at home mom you can't knock the sweats! The ring is put together tightly and the beads don't move around. When choosing your size, make sure you choose correctly depending on which finger you plan on wearing it on. Mine fits perfectly! The sizing is done to perfection. It isn't too tight and cutting off circulation and it doesn't slide up and down my finger what so ever. The beading on the top sits greatly and doesn't get snagged or get caught on every day objects. Even my daughter loves playing with it because of the colors and considering she loves to destroy and toss things around, I would say these things are almost indestructible. I would buy these in every color to match any outfit in my closet!

" I am a history teacher who lives in Colorado with my husband, author Jeff Cook and my two rowdy toddlers Augie (5) and Becket (3). I have loved art since high school but really just got back into it in my middle 20s. When my son Augie was born I thought I had lost a lot of myself to his constant care. When he was 18 months old he was diagnosed with a speech delay and we were told it might be autism. Even though I had my moments of total self pity I chose to start doing art on my down time and both catharsis and therapy. My work has been seen most recently at the Atlas Theater in Greeley, Colorado the French Nest in Fort Collins, Colorado and the Babes in the Woods Gallery in Girdwood, Alaska.

Because I have been fortunate enough to have my baby's life restored I believe in supporting the lives of other mothers who have to watch their children suffer. I went through school, earned degrees in both Studio Art and Education (making children’s books along the way), and received my license to teach children the wonders of art. Then my couldn’t-find-a-job-I-need-money side caught up with me so I took a job in Corporate America. As a financial analyst. In a Fortune 500 firm. I officially sold out. I’m happy to say I have since left Corporate America. While I am actually happy to have had such a robust financial background, my skills and interests are really best served by pursuing creative projects.  I create predominately eco-friendly, education-based children’s toys for toddlers and preschoolers.

All of my products are made using a technique called needle felting. Simply put, needle felting is the act of poking a needle into piles of wool to bind the fibers together. Using a single, barbed needle borrowed from commercial felting machines, wool fibers are tangled and compacted by repeatedly jabbing the needle into the fibers, forming three-dimensional felt sculptures bound only by one’s imagination. I believe my felted toys makes great gifts because they are beautiful, functional and eco-friendly.

House Of Six Cats Coaster Review & Giveaway!

I am very excited to introduce House Of Six Cats!

My Review ;

So I received the coaster set pictured above and I was in awe of how great they really are! First off, the photography is just beautiful. I have been a fan of photography for years now and I love seeing other people put their photography to good creative use outside of just prints and original copies. These coaster have four beautifully captured photos of dandelions in different angles. It's not just four coasters of the same picture, it's four pieces of art spread across your coffee table! The photos are printed and placed onto the tile. I was worried when I first got them that the photos would peal off of the ceramic coaster itself but they really are STUCK on there. Which is already a thumbs up from me.

Second, the photos are water-proof, smudge-proof, and stain resistant! No worries of spilling something and having to throw out yet ANOTHER coaster. I literally go through more coasters than you could imagine. The pictures don't curl, scratch, make little circles from the glass.

Third, the coasters have a foam backing that keeps the ceramic from scratching or destroying any counter they are used on. We only have wood tables so using these is nice for how much things get tossed around with a 6 month old. They don't scratch, they don't leave marks, and the greatest thing...they don't get stuck to the bottom of a glass! You can even order the coasters without the foam backing to use them as tiling in bathrooms and kitchens. All in all, I love my new coasters and can't wait to get another set for the kitchen!

Not only do House Of Six Cats create coasters they also sell Night-lights! BEAUTIFUL night-lights! They just radiate, the art is spectacular!

This is why I believe more Etsy Artists should be noticed. Some people have such talent that it pours out on paper, which brings me to Stasia!

The way that she does some of her art is she creates a line drawing in black ink, scans it into the computer and uses photos of fabric swatches to "collage" and color the image. Brilliant!

My Review ;

Now, it may be true that I can get a little TOO excited about cosmetic products, but what can I say. I LOVE makeup. I also LOVE Shiro Cosmetics. Just look above! So many colors to choose from. I received 5 colors in the mail recently. I got Rattata, Acid, Pikachu, Mew, & Hyper Beam. I couldn't pick a favorite if it were a life or death situation.

When applied they actually come out the color that is shown in pictures. That is a very rare thing when it comes to eyeshadow. You usually have to apply a primer or 10 layers of a certain color just to get it to look remotely like it does packaged. Not this stuff. The colors are bright and have a shimmer to them. Not the type of shimmer where you might blind someone in the sun, but just enough to brighten everything up.

They are all such great colors to play with, create new looks, or match with outfits. The Hyper Beam works perfectly for that smokey eye look also. Even if you aren't into really bright colored makeup she also sells simple colors such as the Articuno, Vulpix, and Meowth.

All in all, these products are great and even VEGAN! I won't be satisfied until I own every single color. I even heard she is working on another line of eyeshadow colors too! There goes my (boyfriends) paycheck. ;)

I am a 26 year old living in Alaska and working in a craft store. I have always loved arts and crafts. I learned to crochet when I was 8. I was always doing after school activities involving art, but was never drawn to anything specific. In high school I got a job making coffee and got really into latte art. I loved the coffee business, and still drink way too much caffeine. When I decided i wanted to work in retail, working in a craft store was the only place I could think of. I learned that there were so many more things I could have been doing! I started painting a lot, mostly with acrylic, and furnished my walls with my art. I have now tried hundreds of craft projects, taken classes and listened to customer's amazing ideas. I was inspired by a magnetic, Swarovski crystal, star closure and decided I would try to make a necklace out of it. I had so much fun dreaming up and making that necklace. I wore it to work the next day and got compliment after compliment. That is when I decided I should make a business out of something I love doing. Making jewelry feeds my artistic urge and gives me that unique piece I am always looking for.

Tallulah's Soaps Review and Giveaway!

I received one of Tallulah's soaps in the mail not too far back and instantly fell in love with it. Before even unwrapping it I was enjoying the delicious scent of Lemon Chamomile.

My Review ;

I have been a fan of handmade soap since I was a little girl. We used to go to this small Ma & Pa soap shop in Chicago and when I found Tallulah's Soaps it brought me back to those days. The different variations of scents she uses to create everyone's personal favorites is what made me a real fan. Who doesn't love Blueberry Smoothie, Creme Brulee, or Pomegranate Martini's? She even managed to create a soap that brings us all back to a childhood favorite, S'mores!

As far as the soap goes, it is the SOFTEST soap I have ever used. It has a very thick lather and the aroma, well, the aroma just envelopes you. It has left my hands soft and smooth and smelling like fresh Lemon Chamomile for hours now. Even my grandmother has came and mentioned to me "I can't believe how soft my hands are!". I really could put bars of Tallulah's Soap in every room of my home. I can't wait to make an order for more!

Here is some information from Tallulah herself ;

"My name is Tallulah. My husband and I adopted four kids and had a baby all within a couple of years. My entire adult life has been spent raising our children and trying to keep my sanity. Now that they are in school (yes, you heard a big....long...sigh), I have the time and energy to devote to projects that I enjoy doing!
Making soap has always been a passion of mine. In the past, I have made soap as gifts for people for Christmas. When friends and family wanted to start buying them, they encouraged me to start selling my products. That is how I found the wonderful world of Etsy and opened up Tallulah's Soaps!

Spy bags are great for keeping children entertained during travel, waiting during appointments, quiet time at home or anywhere you'd like to keep them occupied.

Children hold the bag and use their hands to shift around the pellets inside which makes hidden objects appear randomly in the spy window. It's perfect for children who prefer tactile games and encourages development of fine motor skills.

Giggle Junction wants children of all abilities to feel successful while playing with their spy bag; therefore we take the extra step to attach a card with an exact picture of all the items hidden within their bag. We use a variety of window sizes for our bags. I am currently in awe of these products and can not wait until my daughter is old enough to play with them. I am sure it will become a household favorite!

I haven't updated about the family in quite sometime. I can honestly say I have been quite busy between getting ready for Etsy Appreciation Month & our super LA trip starting TOMORROW! Whoooohooo. 2 night, 3 day vacation away from San Diego and babies and work and computers. I mean, I love all of the above, but it's nice to have time away, plus with the boys work schedule, trying to find time together is almost impossible. We did find time the other day to do a 5 mile hike together. We hiked 2 1/2 miles down a mountain to a beautiful waterfall, sat on the very top rock at the verrrry top of the waterfall and ate lunch together and laid in the sun. It was gorgeous and nerve-wrecking all at the same time (being afraid of heights and all). Then hiked 2 1/2 miles back up the mountain. It was an experience to say the least. If you ever have the chance to go out to Julian, CA don't forget to stop and get some apple pie. Delicious.

And being the FANTASTIC cook that I am ( thank god my boyfriend doesn't read my blog, or else i'd never live that comment down ) I decided to try and make rainbow cupcakes this afternoon. HA. More like marble cupcakes. This was the process..

MAAAAYYYBEE I shouldn't have used the muffin pan. Hmm. Either way, you can't exactly MESS up cupcakes. They are just tasty no matter what the outcome, and to be honest, the way my boyfriend eats I don't see them lasting past the drive to LA tonight. I talk a lot of crap about his eating habits, but really I am just jealous that he can eat 8,000 calories in day and not gain a pound. Literally, we went to the gym the other day and the trainer said that if he wanted to ever GAIN weight he would have to eat at least 8,000 calories a day. 8,000! Ridiculous.

Either way, I should get back to packing and put the little one down for her nap. I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL evening and weekend!

Butter Bell Review & Giveaway!

First off I just want to say that I am SUPER excited to host this giveaway. I have loved this thing for many years now, and I just cannot express how happy I am to share it with anyone and everyone.

Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with kitchen products. Glassware, Dishes, Serving platters..etc. Even though I have never been the greatest cook. I even keep all my beans, rice, pasta, sugar, flour..in those see-through glass air sealed canisters just for the mere presentation. But when it comes to a Butter Bell, I am completely in love.

You know those times you make toast in the morning and end up breaking through the bread because the butter just doesn't seem to want to melt, or when you go to put butter on a cracker and it simply breaks the cracker in half? I hate those moments more than anything. Well, I went to visit my Aunt's house a couple years back and she had some weird contraption sitting at the dinner table. When I asked what it was she showed me it was a butter dish. Plain and simple, right? Wrong. This amazingness was a butter dish that kept butter soft, and fresh, and you didn't have to keep it in the refrigerator! It just sits on the table awaiting the moment you make that toast and want that cracker. You can even use it for cheese!

Honestly, I put butter on everything. I could live off butter and cheese toast. Not the healthiest of options, but delicious non the less.

This is how the Butter Bell works ; (stolen from the website)

The unique design keeps butter at the perfect "spreading" consistency by reflecting outside heat while insulating and cooling the butter. Flavor and freshness is protected by an airtight seal of water at the base of the crock.

Proper maintenance: Water should be changed out every three days. Replace existing water in the base with fresh, cold water. The crock should be stored away from heat or sunlight.

Holds up to one full stick (1/2 cup) of butter. Softened butter is packed firmly into the bell-shaped lid. Cold water is poured into the base of the crock. The lid is placed upside down back into the base of the crock. Soft, spreadable butter may be enjoyed and served right from the crock.

I started a new and exciting project!

I have been doing photography for a while now, but ever since the pregnancy and even after I have been slacking. I haven't picked up a camera and just shot anything and everything in a while. So I decided for some inspiration ( after watching Julie & Julia ) I would look to my bookshelf.

I own this book called "14,000 Things To Be Happy About" and throughout the years I have read pretty much all of it. But never thought twice about what I could do with it. Well, now I figured it out. I am going to take pictures of everything I possibly can on this list. I know a lot of it isn't possible, well, nothing is impossible, so let me rephrase. I know a lot of the stuff isn't realistic without a lot of traveling and a lot of cash. Neither of which I can do at the moment, being a mom and all. But the ones that I can do I plan on doing and so forth.

This list took the author 20 years to write and if I had calculated correctly, taking a photo a day would take me approximately 39 years to complete. So, taking away some of the list and, honestly, she does repeat herself a lot just phrased differently, I plan on getting most of it done within the next 3 years. But I want to post as much as humanly possible! I have a lot of photos from my past that will work perfectly for some and a lot of friends willing to help out and be my models for some new ones! I have never been more excited to start this project!

If you would like to follow it, I created a separate blog and eventually I plan to move it all to a website (that won't be anytime soon) then MAYBE get it published into a short photo book (that REALLY won't happen for a while). But for now you can start reading it HERE.

I hopefully will have another 10 or so photos posted by the end of the weekend!

Lively Updates

So I have come to a conclusion. I really do not mind doing dishes, I will do them whenever need be, hand washing that is, but when it comes to left overs that have sat in a tupperware, or just a dish in general, I can't bring myself to do it. I was cleaning out the refrigerator today since we had just gone grocery shopping, ( We managed to get $180 worth of food for $100, because we are super shoppers. I was happy. ) and I noticed a considerable amount of left overs that had snuck their way behind anything and everything. Now, I don't remember the last time we had taco's, nor do I remember the last time we had chili. So that right there brings my stomach to a halt. If that even was chili or tacos...Hmm. Either way, I can't bring myself to do it. I am even surprised we HAVE left overs considering the amount of food my boyfriend consumes on a daily basis. One family meal made to serve 8 serves him and I. Mostly him, and yet he is the tallest skinniest thing in the world. I could only wish I had his metabolism. Hopefully our daughter does.

On a lighter note, I started my diet two days ago. It's a simple one, no carbs, simple foods. I had a delicious lunch of lemon-pepper tuna wrapped in lettuce & a tall glass of grapefruit juice. I always wonder why I never ate like this before...it's yummy! Dinner tonight I am making the boy and the grandmother (visiting for two weeks from Chicago) tacos, and myself tilapia cooked to perfection in warm sweet tomato salsa! I also wonder why I never cooked this much before. The things motherhood does to you, I say.

That doesn't leave me much else to say today. I spent too much time in Target buying clothes for the little one, and a Bumbo, which I hear very good things about. Maybe I will even do a review once she uses it a bit more! Good day to all! Wish me luck on the diet....a few more days and I'll probably need it!

My Daughter, Kannon.

As I have mentioned before, I have a four month old daughter named Kannon Elizabeth Bee. I just realized I have yet to post a picture of her. So here she is, in all her glory ;

She was born at 8lbs 5oz. She was about 22in long. ( Thanks to having two tall parents ). At four months she is already in size 3 diapers and wearing clothes for a 6-9 month old just so her legs have enough room to straighten out. Ridiculous. I am pretty sure she will be the tallest in her class.

She just took her first plane ride to and from Chicago to meet some of my dad's side of the family. All in all she did pretty well on the plane, she only cried when we had to land in Kansas City to pick up more people. The ear pressure was the big problem. The other passangers found her to be a hit though! She laughs up a storm when people talk to her. Here are some pictures from the trip ;

She is a ball of joy when it comes to children. I couldn't have asked for a better baby girl. Now just to convince daddy to have a second.... ;) dun dun dunnn.

Dr. Browns Baby Bottle Review & Giveaway!

This my very first review & giveaway all in one! I will have many more posted throughout the week to get this blog up and running! So hang in there.

My first baby, our daughter Kannon, was born on Dec 26th, 2009. After numerous attempts to breastfeed, I failed miserably. So I was forced to bottle feed. A good friend of our family turned us onto Dr. Browns Baby Bottles. Kannon was one of those children that would drink her milk as fast as possible and end up being miserable in the end. The Dr. Browns bottles were designed with a vent system that eliminated the vacuum, air bubbles and negative pressure associated with conventional bottle feeding, and to this day is the only bottle of it's kind.

After we started using them we noticed a considerable drop in air intake and spit up. The company also sells nipples to go along with the growth of your baby. We have so far used Level N Level 2. Mostly 2's for those super sleepy times to keep her awake to finish her bottles.

We ended up loving the bottles so much we bought about 10 more. They are easy to take apart and easy to assemble in even the most trying moments. After we noticed our daughter was eating more than the 4oz bottles allowed, we went out to find that they also sold bigger bottles in 8oz. What a delight.

I have to say the only down side we have had thus far is traveling with the 4oz bottles. If we plan a short trip and don't feel like bringing a jug of water we fill the bottles and carry the formula in a separate container, but the bottles always seem to slowly leak out the top, even with the cap on. So we have switch over to all 8oz bottles. They come with a flat circular lid that goes on top of the bottle before the nipple and lid. It has been our lifesaver for water on the go. Especially for those long road trips to see the family!

All in all, I have tried numerous bottles of every kind and I can say that if I am ever asked what saved me with my first child, it was Dr. Browns Baby Bottles. They work miracles and make life a little simpler, and if you are a stay at home mom you should know, anything to make the day a little less complicated is worth a shot.

Let me say, Chicago is not any warmer than I had remembered. No wonder I don't live here anymore. 14 years was quite enough to get me through a lifetime. Basically, If I never had to see my breath outside again I would be one happy girl.

The baby doesn't seem to like the cold much either. She got wind burn on her face from a day out we had at Long Grove. She also has a dry little nose from being so stuffy. Poor girl. She seems happier now that it has settled down a bit. When we first got here I think she saw about 10 new faces within the first 48 hours. She pretty much couldn't handle it and went into a fit of over stimulation. It happens, I guess.

I am excited to see the family, but I will be more excited to be back in my warm apartment, in warm San Diego, with my warm boyfriend. Plus, I have to be back here in two months for one of my best friends baby showers! Yay, baby girls all around!

Well, I guess I should start making breakfast. I hope all is well for everyone! Send me some warmth, please!

Hey! I am super excited to be appart of this community. I am hoping to start updating soon. We leave for vacation tomorrow morning! Bee's first plane ride. I am sure I am more worried than should be. But I will update once I get there and HOPEFULLY I will start getting this blog rolling when I get back. I hope all is well for everyone!
